KATHARINA (TEENA) WILLIAMS beloved wife of Robert E. Williams, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge at the age of 78.
Besides her husband, she is also survived by her son Stan (Karrie) Williams, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Also left to mourn are her sisters Maria (David) Thiessen, Cristina Aszmies, Elena Thiessen, Anita (Bill) Boris, and sisters-in-law Maria Thiessen, and Edith Thiessen.
She was predeceased by her parents Diedrich & Sarah Thiessen, and siblings Diedrich, Sara, Netty, John, Eva, and Bernhard. She was also predeceased by Robert’s family; mother and father-in-law Annie Williams and William Williams, and sisters-in-law Doris (Les) Chambers, Irene (Bob) Torgensan, and Jean (Eric) Wanamaker.
Teena was well known in the community of Coaldale. She was a business owner along with her husband Bob, staring out with a photocopy service and later owning Fudges. She did countless hours of volunteering in the community including the Senior’s home, ladies aid, sunbeam ladies and was passionately involved with Gem of the West Museum as she participated from the beginning of the museum up until her passing. Teena was active in Toastmasters and was well known for her catering and fabulous baking through all her work.
One of Teena’s greatest pleasures was her much loved flower garden. You could often find her in the early morning hours sitting with a cup of coffee in the yard enjoying the peacefulness of her garden.
Teena was devoted to her family. She was thrilled when her Son got married. She would joke about how she gained a daughter, became a grandmother and great grandmother and she did it all in one day.
Teena touched the hearts of many people and she will truly leave a void in many lives as well as the town of Coaldale. She will be missed.
A Visitation will be held between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday March 19, 2017 at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 – 17 Street, Coaldale.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 – 17 Street, Coaldale, with Pastor Lillian Thompson officiating. Private family interment at Coaldale Cemetery.
