She is survived by her three sons: Doug (Darlene) Nielsen, Stirling, AB, Arne (Shirley) Nielsen, Raymond, AB, and Ross (Merilee) Nielsen, Farmington, Utah; sixteen grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
She was born in Bedford, Nova Scotia on October 29, 1910. Her parents were Robert Fenerty and Mary Oland.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Karl (deceased November 4, 1950), Fred Rogers (deceased December 15, 1977); her son Erik (deceased September 21, 1989) and great granddaughter Arianna Nielsen. Jessie was the last survivor of nine siblings.
She was a faithful member of the church, having served in many callings, including 19 years as director of the French extraction program and a senior missionary in the San Jose California Mission.
Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2008 at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge East Stake Centre, 4105 Forestry Avenue South, with Bishop Ronald Murphy officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. only. Interment in the Barnwell Cemetery. No flowers by request.
