James Meeks

October 8, 1944 - May 8, 2012

James passed away peacefully in Raymond on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the age of 67 years, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Sheila Meeks; children: James Ross (Diana Meeks) and their children: Ashley (Randy) King, and Mackenzie Meeks; Scott (Melody) Meeks and their children: Christine, Chantell, and Kenadee Meeks; Amber (Mike) Broderson and their children: Trey, Wyatt, and Charleigh Broderson; Wanda (Geoff) Hall and their children: Saige, Darcee, and Kane Hall; and Brandy (Harold) Maslen and their children: Austin and Tyler Maslen. James is also survived by a sister Jazelle Ralph.

He is predeceased by his parents Ted and Viola Meeks, sisters: Theodora Pack, and Yvonne Dahl, and brothers-in-law Lloyd Ralph. and Dalin Pack.

James was a farmer and rancher in Southern Alberta. In addition, he worked for 22 years as a rabies technician for the South Region Counties and Municipal Districts. He served proudly for 5 years as a Councillor for the County of Warner - Division #6. He loved the outdoors; hunting, camping and fishing. James loved his dogs, with Napi being his greatest companion. He was a Raymond Comet fan and enjoyed many high school basketball games. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Friends may meet the family on Friday evening, May 11 ONLY, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Church.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, RAYMOND STAKE CENTRE. Interment in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
