DOUGLAS EDWIN CLARK

1931 - 2008

DOUG CLARK, beloved husband of Donna Clark and the late Nola Clark, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2008 at the age of 77. Doug was born in Calgary, Alberta on January 24, 1931, a son to Archibald Ireland Clark and Ida Aileen O'Bray.

At age 19 he served an LDS mission in the British Isles. In 1953, Doug married Nola Nelson . His sense of humor and friendly personality made family time full of fun, laughter, loyalty and love. His family meant everything to him and he will be forever cherished and remembered by Doug and Nola's five children: Bullet (Bonnie), Jane (Tom) Wolsey, Karen (Scott) MacLennan , Jim (Nives), and Cameron (Janet). Doug and Nola have 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Doug is survived by his sister Carol Robertson.

Doug started Doug's Record Bar in 1956, which operates now in its 53rd year as Doug's Sports. Doug and Nola also began operating Lethbridge Travel in the early 80's. Doug loved to travel, his favorite place was Israel which he visited many times.

Doug devoted many years to Men's basketball in Southern Alberta, including the Annual Doug's Christmas Tournament. Doug was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.

Nola passed away in 2002. Doug was remarried to Donna Gibbon and together they loved their service in the Alberta Temple Doug loved his God, his family and life. He brought so much good into the world. He will be terribly missed, but his influence will live on forever.

Friends may meet the family at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge on Friday, September 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or at the church on Saturday from 9:30 -10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge Stake Centre, 2410-28 Street South, with Bishop Doran Anderson officiating. Interment to follow in the Archmount Cemetery.
