David is survived by his daughters Heidi (Lawrence) Pauli and Melanie MacQueen of Ontario, along with grandchildren Nathan and Hailie. He is also survived by his father and stepmother George and Carol Cummings of Ontario, sister Lianne (Dana) Williams-Freeman of Lethbridge, brother Allan (Rose) Cummings of BC, and half sister Joyce Grigg of Ontario, along with many nephews, nieces, and other family members and friends, in Lethbridge and across Canada.
He is predeceased by his mother Huguette Cummings, brother Richard Cummings, and many other loved family members.
David was born on June 7, 1955 in Galt (Cambridge), Ontario where he attended school and worked before moving to Lethbridge in 1990. From the time he was a young boy, he loved going with his family to the car races in Canada and the United States. When he couldn't attend them live, he enjoyed getting together with friends to watch them on television. His passion was rock-n-roll and classic rock music. David could easily offer the title and artist of any song in that genre. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially for holidays and on trips to Montana. He will be remembered as a man who was easy to please and found great joy in the small and simple things in life.
David struggled with schizophrenia for many years and the family would like to thank all those who helped and supported him in any way.
Friends may meet with the family for a memorial service on Monday, February 1 at 4:00 pm at STREETS ALIVE, 323 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Dwayne Schaff conducting. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Streets Alive or the Lethbridge Food Bank Society, 1016-2 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB T1J 0C9.
