It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Leland Joss of Lethbridge, Alberta. Wayne passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on July 28, 2025.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Fran; daughter Erin (Jason) Beekman of Coaldale; son Kenny (Amber) Joss of Lethbridge; and granddaughters Ella and Rhea Beekman of Coaldale. He is also survived by his siblings Barbara (John) Krahn of Calgary, Floyd (Louise) Joss of Lethbridge, Esther (Irwin) Aichele of Calgary, and Doreen (Trevor) Krause of Red Deer, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Dorothy Joss of Burdett.
Wayne was born on September 27, 1949, in Lethbridge and raised in Burdett, where he graduated in 1967. He went on to attend SAIT in Calgary, completing his studies in 1969. In 1971, Wayne relocated to the Okanagan region of British Columbia, where he met the love of his life, Fran. They were married in March 1977 and welcomed their daughter, Erin, in 1982. The family moved back to Lethbridge in 1985 and welcomed their son, Kenny, in 1987. Together, Wayne and Fran owned and operated Joss Technical Ltd. from 1985 until their retirement in 2019.
In retirement, Wayne focused on his two greatest passions—his family and fast cars. He was a lifelong and active member of the car community in Southern Alberta, and a familiar face at events across the region. His passion and wisdom benefited many, and his handiwork will remain on the car scene for years to come.
A private graveside interment will take place in Burdett, Alberta, with a memorial service and Car Meet to follow in celebration of Wayne’s life. Details will be shared by the family on social media.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Neurology Department at Foothills Hospital.
