Stephan Ray Lacusta

Stephan Ray Lacusta, beloved husband of Deborah Lacusta, passed away in Cardston, Alberta on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at the age of 61 years.

Stephan was born and raised in Cardston on January 24, 1962 to Michael and Rae Marie Lacusta. He was raised and educated in Southern Alberta. In 1990, he met the love of his life, Deborah, and they were married on a snowy August 22nd in 1992. Stephan and Deborah called Cardston home where they would raise their children. Stephan, known as a “Jack of all Trades”, worked for the County of Cardston from his teenage years up until his 40s, where he then moved his talent and skills to the Lee Creek Valley Golf Course. Outside of work, you would catch him working on fellow community members’ lawn mowers or vehicles and if he wasn’t working on something with an engine, he would be creating projects with his welder, whether it be horseshoe figurines or a small oil pumpjack. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart and he loved spending time with them, even if that meant getting on the ground to play with his granddaughter or taking a “beating” from his grandsons; when he spoke about his grandchildren, which was often, you could see and feel how much he loved and cared for them. Stephan will be remembered for his gentleness and kindness towards everyone, his creativity, and as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and good friend to all those that truly knew him.

Left are the loved ones he was proud of and spoke highly of. Stephan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deborah; his children – Travis, Yvette, Chantel (Husky) and their daughter Rae Marie, and Stephanie (Kyle) and their children Theodore and Sullivan; his sisters – Rosanne (Wayne) Shields and Marlene Sinclair; and his brother – Shane (Pam).

Friends may meet with the family prior to the service on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Archmount Cemetery, West Lethbridge.
