Neil Richard Toshio Hinatsu

The family of Neil Richard Toshio Hinatsu are sad to announce that Neil passed away on February 6, 2025.

Neil is survived by his brother Jim, his wife Maureen and their children Emily, Amanda, Daniel. His brother-in-law Dr. Bruce Todd, and his children Alexander, his wife Erika and Nicholas and his wife Sarah and their children Jordan, Evelyn and Jack.

Neil will be remembered for his love of cinema, watching hockey and football with family and occasionally playing golf with his brother and friends.

Neil loved being involved in the lives of Alexander’s two children Jordan and Evelyn as well as Nicholas’ son Jack. He loved all three of them and cherished the time they spent together.

He was predeceased by his sister Lorraine Hinatsu-Todd (2006) and his parents Roy (1994) and Janet (2013) Hinatsu.

Neil was born, raised, and lived his entire life in Lethbridge, Alberta and was an active member of the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta up until his death. He was a kind and gentle person and his family will miss him dearly.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta (470 40 St S, Lethbridge, AB).

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta.

Following the service, the family invites you to join them for a light lunch in the Temple Social Hall.
