June Mary Cecilia (Bennett) Bretzke

June Bretzke, beloved wife of Henri of Calgary, AB, passed away at McKenzie Town AgeCare on January 13, 2025, at the age of 90 years.

June was born in Ottawa to Henry and Marie Anne Bennett. She was one of seven children. June was loved and cherished by all five of her children, 22 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was also a faithful daughter of God, Relief Society President, and served a mission with her husband, Henri.

June will be missed for her loving and caring ways, and her fun sense of humour.

She is survived by her children; Arlene (Don) Forster of Calgary, Erika (Dave) Herrick of Edmonton, Carl Bretzke of Calgary, Fred Bretzke of Calgary, and Brenda Bretzke of Calgary. She will also be greatly missed by her 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Gail Mercer of BC, along with her grandchildren; Benjamin, Jennifer, Allison, Daniel, Samuel, Kristen, Emily, Jaci, Joseph, Sylvia, Tammy, Valerie, Amy, Donna, James, William, Megan, Gwen, Trina, Kelly, and Kent.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henri; sisters Lois, Diana, and Joan; brothers Earl and Carl; and grandson Jonathan.

Friends may meet the family on January 18, 2025, from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703-13 St. N. Lethbridge, AB. A graveside service will then be held at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Hill Cemetery in Raymond, AB.

A Celebration of life will take place the following week on January 25, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - 30 Everstone Blvd SW, Calgary, AB,  at 2:00 p.m.
