Judith Mae (nee: Watts) (nee: Bast) Friesen

Judith Mae (nee: Watts) (nee: Bast) Friesen went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2024, at the age of 81 years.

She was born in Rosemary, Alberta, on January 4, 1943 to Don and Nellie Watts. She lived and attended school in Duchess, Alberta. Judith married Delmore Bast on November 16, 1963 and together they lived in Duchess, Claresholm, Grand Prairie, and then Dawson Creek. After Del’s passing in 1996, Judith moved to Lethbridge to be closer to family. On June 16, 2001 she married Ron Friesen, and they resided in Lethbridge until her passing.

Judy is survived by her loving husband Ron Friesen; her sons Ricky (Mickaele) Bast, and Delmore Bast; grandson Cohen Bast; stepson Neil Friesen and his children Zachary and Taylor; granddaughter Carmen Sipma; great granddaughter Harmony Selby; three sisters Ramona Plett, Ethel Watts, and Pauline Allsop; brother Carman (Bonnie) Watts; aunt Hazel Dearing; brother-in-law Ron Bast; foster grandchild Larissa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband Delmore Bast in 1996; son Wendell Bast on August 30, 2024; grandson Simon Selby in 2021; parents Don and Nellie Watts; siblings Irma Salzmann and Marshall Watts; and sister-in-law Mary Terry (Bast).

Our family is very thankful to the doctors and nurses on 4B for their compassion and care during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held at One Life Church, 501 40 St. S, in Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 1:00 P.M.
