It is with great sadness that our dear friend Jeff Godin has passed away.
Jeff was a friend to many people. He was incredibly kind, creative, and funny. Jeff had a heart of gold. Year after year he volunteered at the Amnesty Highway Cleanup Fundraiser. He would even request days off of work so he could help Amnesty International Lethbridge raise money for human rights work.
Jeff regularly attended the Amnesty International Monthly Letter Writing Circle, where I am sure his letters have had an impact on supporting the human rights of others. He was a writer and a poet, he enjoyed playing guitar and even painted. He would often read poetry at poetry readings around Lethbridge and Calgary. For years he played music at open mic events at the Space Cowboy and at the Ship and Anchor in Calgary.
Before Jeff passed away he wrote an autobiography of his life in two volumes.
He had a great sense of humour, was always positive, compassionate and was a good storyteller.
I know we will all miss spending time with him.
Son.
Brother.
Friend.
Warrior.
Fly free.
