Jean Cecilia (Poch) Albush

Jean Cecilia Albush passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 at the age of 90 years.

Jean will be lovingly remembered by her three children: Larry (Angie) and their son Colin, Vern (Kathleen) and their son Gordon and daughter Claire, and Diane Moncrieff and her daughter Allison. She is also survived by her two brothers Vince Poch, Ron Poch, one niece and numerous nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Raymond, her parents, Joseph and Lydia Poch and two sisters, Helen (Bill) Crayford and Lillian (Ezio) Pedrini.

Jean was born in 1932 in Chapel Rock Alberta to her parents, Joseph and Lydia Poch. There, Jean grew up with her four siblings. At 17 years of age, Jean came to Lethbridge and began working in the Paramount Theater where she met her future husband Ray. They married in 1957 and were together until his death in 1985.

During her younger years in Lethbridge, Jean worked in various customer relations positions at Alberta Government Telephones, Alberta Treasury Branch, the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital, Woolco and Sears. In later years she worked at the Alberta Motor Association where she enjoyed meeting new people and helping them plan their travel adventures.

Jean had  a zest for life. Some of her favourite activities were dancing, bowling, enjoying long walks and reading. She was loved by many and admired for her strength and courage in difficult times. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on September 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703 13th St N. Lethbridge, Alberta. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff in 4C at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital for their kind and compassionate care given to Jean and her family.
