It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Hank Camp.
Hank passed away peacefully on June 16, 2023, at the age of 92 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Mary Camp and his children:
Daughter Terry (Don) Noss & their children Brianne & Bradley
Daughter: Deb (Doug) Kitaguchi and their children – Courtney (Riely) Blinco and Chelsey (Evan) Deitz and his great grandchildren Kennedy Blinco, Weston Blinco, Isabelle Deitz & Oliver Deitz
Daughter: Natalie Stevenson and her children Scott Stevenson (Hailee Denief) and Nicole (Matt) Koenig
Hank was born and raised in Maastricht, Limberg in the Netherlands on January 8, 1931. He was the youngest of 8 children.
He served in the Dutch Royal Air Force KLM. When he was 20 years old, he decided to immigrate to Canada by himself where his fiancé Mia waited for him.
Hank found several jobs and finally found his way where he fit in.
It was around 1970 that he started work with Todd Haibeck and became quite active in all there was going on. Hank sold the Haico business and moved to Oakville, Ontario where he ran a steel business. With that the Wickes bought out the business and Hank continued to work for the Wickes Corporation and was director of Wickes Canada. From there he was sent to New York and ran the lumber business for the company. He was transferred many more times and lived in Philadelphia, South Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and California.
When he returned to Canada, he worked for the Better Business Bureau and was promoted by Wickes as vice-president of the corporation.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Therese Villa for their wonderful care and compassion.
A private funeral service will be held.
