Helen Florence Hyde, born on July 10, 1934, in Erickson, Manitoba, to Charles and Mary Hyde, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024 at 90 years old, surrounded by loved ones. Her long life was a testament to the love and support she received from family, friends, and caregivers, especially the compassionate staff at Prairie Ridge – Good Samaritans Society in Raymond and SASH Disability Support Services in Magrath.
Helen's radiant smile and infectious laugh left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She had an extraordinary gift for making friends wherever she went, a testament to her warmth and kindness. Helen’s compassion extended not only to people but also to the natural world. Her beloved cat, Dicey, was her faithful companion for many years, and her love for animals and the outdoors was evident in all she did.
Throughout her life, Helen found joy in helping others and took great pride in her work. She dedicated many years to the bakery where she worked, known for her strong work ethic and commitment to her craft. Her involvement with the Magrath Catholic Women’s League brought her a deep sense of community and companionship, something she cherished.
Helen’s graceful presence was always felt, as she took pride in her appearance, rarely seen without her hair done, makeup on, and dressed elegantly. Her thoughtful care for her friends reflected her kind spirit, and she will always be remembered as a loyal and generous friend.
Helen's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and beauty in the lives she touched.
Helen’s life will be remembered on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 with a viewing beginning at 12noon at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703-13th Street North, Lethbridge. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm in the Magrath Cemetery. A luncheon will be provided for all who loved Helen following the graveside service at SASH Disability Support Services (22 North 1st Street W Magrath, AB).
