It is with our greatest sadness to announce that just before noon on November 14, 2023, Dianna Faye Schaufert of Stirling, beloved wife of Gordon Schaufert, cherished mom, grandmother, auntie, sister, friend, has passed away. She battled with health issues and complications, but she is now at rest. Faye was encircled with her family by her side.
Faye is survived by her husband Gordon Schaufert, 3 children Danna Schaufert, Ryan Schaufert, Dixie Nielson (Robert Nielson) and her grandchildren Tanis Nielson (Devon Cervo) and Leland Nielson. She is also survived by her brothers Gary, Ron and Mel and by her sisters Gail and Darlene.
If you knew Faye, you loved her. She freely gave her love, kindness, and generosity, always with a smile and a laugh.
She was born on May 3rd, 1946 and married her love Gordon Elmer Schaufert on October 21, 1967. During Faye’s lifetime she grew up in BC and Alberta, so she loved the prairies and the mountains. Faye was a horse woman through and through but had a love for all animals. Most of all she loved her family. Us kids knew we were loved by her, but we also knew she had a great love for her nieces and nephews, to her we were all her kiddos. There was never a lack of love because she had an endless amount to go around. Her grandkids were the apple of her eye. She had a special soft spot for them, and they knew it.
Faye worked 40+ years as a hairdresser and had a great passion for it. She worked at many salons throughout Lethbridge and from her home in Stirling. If you grew up in Stirling, chances are our mom cut, colored, or permed your hair.
Although we are saddened by her passing, we know that she is no longer struggling and in pain. Her illness had taken so much from her, and she was ready to be free of her ailing body. We are grateful that she is now at peace with so many loved ones that have passed before her. She is now embracing them with arms outstretched and with much more love to give.
A private family burial took place in the Stirling Cemetery.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Stirling Chapel) , 413 3 St, Stirling, AB.
