It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eric Gordon Anderson on May 28, 2026, at the age of 71.
Eric was born in Raymond, Alberta, on December 13, 1954, to Gordon and Kathleen Anderson.
Eric lived life to the fullest and was always ready for his next adventure, whether it was scuba diving, dirt biking, skydiving, hiking, or anything else that kept him outdoors enjoying life. Eric believed in working hard, doing things right, and taking pride in a job well done.
As a young man, Eric faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Columbus, Ohio, and West Virginia. He had a deep faith in Jesus Christ and found great joy serving in the Church throughout his life.
While Eric loved adventure, nothing brought him greater joy than sharing those adventures with his family. He was always planning the next trip, outing, or experience and loved creating lasting memories with them.
Eric is survived by Marni, his beloved wife and best friend; his children, Jennifer (Skyler) MacDonnell, Cherylin (Bob) Salmon, Jonathan Anderson, and Alexis (Kurtis) Pratt; 15 grandchildren; and 3.5 great-grandchildren (Eric would never forget the .5 one).
He is also survived by his siblings: Don (Ruthanne) Anderson, Maureen (Tom) Prepchuk and Kathryn (Michael) Crane; as well as many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and others who passed before him.
Those who knew Eric will always remember his quick wit and sense of humor, his faith, his service in the Church, and his vigor for life and family. There was never a dull moment with Eric around.
Though we will miss him greatly, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the knowledge that families can be together forever.
A Celebration of Eric's Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 12:00 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4105 Forestry Avenue Chapel with Bishop Brad Low officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:50 a.m.
