Elizabeth Littau

Elizabeth Littau of Lethbridge, passed away on Monday December 9, 2024, at the age of 86 years.

Elizabeth is survived by her sister Magdolna Maria Antoni of Kerepes, Hungary; her children Joe Madarasz, Charlie (Kim) Madarasz, Elizabeth “Susie” Schwenke, Margaret Rushford, Ellie Littau (Tim), John George (Danette) Littau; grandchildren Steven Watson, Mandy McCoy (Stephen), April Madarasz (Rob Ensign), Morgan Madarasz, Melanie Rushford, Kristina Madarasz, Janell Madarasz (Justice Atwood), Dusty Matthews, Samantha Ahlgren, and Harley Grizzle; great grandchildren, Bryden McCoy, Kinsley Ahlgren, Maisy Matthews, Nolan Matthews; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her parents Stephan & Elizabeth Antoni, her five brothers Sandor “Alex” Antoni, Istvan “Steve” Antoni, Karoly “Charlie” Antoni, Laci “Leslie” Antoni, and Bela “Bill” Antoni.

Elizabeth was born September 7, 1938, in a small village called Nagykamaras, Hungary to Stephan & Elizabeth Antoni. When she was 17 years old Elizabeth immigrated to Canada arriving by herself in Montreal. She travelled by train to Lethbridge and later moved to a farm near Wrentham, where she worked for Mr. & Mrs. Eliason. She was always a hard worker, whether it was her time at Budapest Restaurant, completing her hairdressing school, and spending 25 years working on the farm in Vauxhall. Elizabeth moved back to Lethbridge to work at the Chinook Regional hospital for many years, even spending time working at the Balog Auction Market. There was nothing she couldn’t do, and if you told her she couldn’t she’d prove you wrong! She was a remarkable woman, who provided for her family above all, she will be greatly missed.

A Visitation will be held from 6:30pm – 7:30pm on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703-13th Street North, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday December 14, 2024, at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703-13th Street North, with an opportunity to pay final respects the hour prior to the service.

A graveside service will be held at Royal View Cemetery, Lethbridge.
