Dr. Siegfried 'Siggy' Heinz Vogt

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Sieg (Siggy) Vogt on May 21, 2026, surrounded by loved ones and close friends, on his own terms after a 6-year battle with both spinal stenosis and multiple myeloma. At the end of his life, he was in an unimaginable amount of pain and discomfort. We are all relieved that he is now at peace and no longer in an ongoing battle with his body.

Sieg was born in Dusseldorf, Germany, on May 13, 1952, to Heinz and Else Vogt. They moved to Canada when Sieg was just 3 years old, putting down roots in Port Alberni, BC. Sieg was a talented young athlete and a dedicated student, aspiring to become a dentist, and he fulfilled that dream at UBC, graduating a year early in 1977. He moved to Prince George, BC shortly after, started practicing dentistry, and married his wife, Sherry, in 1980. They had two children, son Ryan in 1981 and daughter Heidi in 1982. Sieg was a competitor in everything he did. He won many awards over the years and pursued many goals in golf, curling, and playing pool. Sieg retired from dentistry in 2010 and moved to Lethbridge, Alberta, where he resided until his passing.

Sieg is survived by his children, Ryan (Erin) Vogt and Heidi (Chris) Moe; his four grandchildren, Abby, Ben, Cassie, and Brianna; and his sister, Christa Hughes. He was predeceased by his father, Heinz; mother, Else; and brother-in-law, Corny Hughes.

Sieg will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Sieg’s name to the Royal Canadian Legion.

To honour Sieg, a Memorial Service will be held at Parallel Church, 211069 Township Rd 90A #8, Lethbridge County, AB, on Tuesday, May 26, at 1:30 p.m.
