Donald Gordon Beck peacefully slipped away from this earthly journey after a long, valorous battle with cancer in the arms of his best friend, soul mate, and loving wife. Surrounded by those who truly loved him, he found eternal peace upon his passing in the comfort of his home in Aetna, Alberta, on December 12, 2023.
In the quiet realm of twilight's hue, a father stands, a noble view.
A warrior once in life's grand play, now facing dusk's soft fading ray.
Cancer's grip, a relentless foe, steals the strength we all used to know.
Yet in his eyes, eternal grace, a love that time cannot erase.
Memories woven, a sacred thread, through laughter, tears, the life he's led.
In every heartbeat, in every breath, a legacy forged, defying death.
Though shadows lengthen, and night draws near, a bond unbroken, a love sincere.
In whispered prayers and gentle embrace, his spirit soars, finding solace and grace.
So let this verse, a tribute true, honor the strength he journeys through.
A father's love, an endless flame, eternal, cherished, forever the same.
In his wake, Don leaves behind his legacy in his beloved wife, Shannon (Moore) Beck, and his children: Chad, Kim, Miste, Austin, Dylan, as well as the sons of his heart, Rob Wise and Jeff Gibson. His cherished grandchildren Ashton, Wyatt, Easton, Oakley, Zoey, Sawyer, and Emmett carry forward his love, spirit, and his memory.
Survived and left to mourn his passing is his mother, Iva (Millard) Beck, predeceased by his father Jack Beck. Survived by his siblings - Bob (Norma), Corey (Janet), Mark (Kathy), Pam (Bob), and Melanie (Ed).
In accordance with Don's wishes, there will be no funeral service, but rather a celebration in his memory—a joyous gathering for family and close friends to honour the remarkable life he led.
