David Paul Yawney

David Paul Yawney, beloved husband of Jeanne Yawney of Raymond, Alberta, passed away at home on July 27th at the age of 73 years.

David was the devoted father of Jeremy (Rachel), Matt (Becky), Mark (Jody), Jilliane (Stephen), Davis (Eliza), and he was a fun-loving, proud grandfather to his 12 grandchildren.

David also leaves behind his spunky mother, Mary Yawney, of 95 years, and his siblings Roseline Rice, Eugenia Martin (Curtis), Joseph Yawney (Lucy), Gailine Boice (Dale), Cathenia Draper (Bryan), and Maryann Bilben (Blake). He is predeceased by his dear brother, Konrad Yawney (Carla) and his father, Paul Yawney.

David approached life with faith, optimism, and resourcefulness. He was a favourite hiking buddy, a trusty handyman, a backyard birder, an unrivaled wrestler, a dedicated gardener, a farmer at heart, a man of faith, and so much more.

He was a constant companion to Jeanne, his wife of 50 years. One of his favourite stories to tell was of the day they met and how he knew from the moment he saw her that they were meant to be together.

A memorial service will be held in David's honour at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Knight Street Chapel in Raymond, AB. with lunch to follow.
