It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, Lee Bullock.
Lee was born at home, in Welling, Alberta on April 20, 1926 and passed away peacefully at Extendicare, Fairmont on February 12, 2025, at the age of 98. He would have had his 99th birthday in April this year.
Lee had a natural ability to build and repair almost anything and as a young man still in his teens, he helped many farmers out by fixing their broken equipment. This talent led him to attend PITA in Calgary to get his ticket as a master mechanic and automotive electrician. Lee was hired at the John Deere dealership in Raymond and soon became the foreman, even though he was one of the youngest mechanics working there.
He met the love of his life, Nelda Loxton, while they were both living at the Castle house in Raymond and they were married and sealed in the Cardston Alberta Temple July 21, 1948.
The couple decided to move to Lethbridge in the late 1950’s and they purchased their first home. In 1960, Lee and Nelda welcomed their only child, Nelda-Lee, into their home and hearts. There was nothing that Lee and Nelda would not do for their little girl.
Lee soon became a partner with his brother Kim and they opened their own business called Bullocks’ Auto Body. He loved his work and the people he worked with. He had nicknames for all of them and was called ‘King‘ by everyone. The business was very successful and Lee worked there with Kim until he retired at age 65.
Lee and Nelda then began to travel to many places as Nelda was interested in genealogy. The couple also became ‘Snowbirds’ and travelled to Arizona and California in their RV to spend the winter. They loved their time down south and met many new friends. Lee and Nelda were still camping until Lee was 85 years old.
When not travelling, Lee worked at the genealogical library, repairing machines. He also helped many older friends by taking them shopping and helping them around their home when these people could no longer do these things themselves.
Lee loved his family deeply and would help them out in any way he could. He went on field trips with his grandkids and babysat the granddog often. He would take the dog out to a field to run then they would go to McDonalds for a treat.
He would tell us "I love you more than you know" every time we saw him. He is the most loving, caring and generous person that we will ever know.
Lee was a faithful member of the L.D.S. Church his entire life and held many roles within the church. One of his favorite roles was working with the young men who became lifelong friends that he kept in touch with over the years
He was predeceased by his wife, Nelda Loxton Bullock, his parents, Ernest and Alda, his brothers Glen (LaVon), his sister Nina (Fletcher) and his brother Keith. He is survived by his daughter Nelda-Lee Delaney (Robert). Grandchildren Daylan Delaney (Aubrey), Janay Payant (Tyler) and great grandchildren Tristyn, Taylor, Lincoln, Holly, Lyric and Diem and his brother Kim (Pat) and many nieces and nephews who knew him as Uncle Peach.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lethbridge East Stake Centre, 4105 Forestry Avenue, Lethbridge with Richard Hill officiating.
Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., at the church.
Interment to follow at Magrath Cemetery, followed by a light luncheon at the Delaney home.
