Chantal Marie Rennie

Chantal Marie Rennie, beloved wife of Donald Rennie, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in Calgary at the age of 55 years.

She is the loving mother of Shayne Rennie, Chase Rennie, Anelise Rennie, and their step-siblings Amy Van Eden, Megan Wilson, and Beth Povey as well as all of her grandchildren.

She is also survived by her mother, Alice Ries and her siblings Brett and Cerina, and their children.

Chantal was predeceased by her father, A. Gord Ries.

Chantal Marie Rennie was born in Medicine Hat to Alice and Gord Ries on January 31st, 1968. In her younger years, she was an avid athlete and was the provincial free-throw champion in Alberta (and dragged her siblings all over the province to do it). She loved to dance and carried that love throughout her life.

Chantal enjoyed working with her hands, taking up many hobbies such as gardening, painting, crocheting, sewing, and baking, and her family and friends always enjoyed the fruits of her labour. She dedicated her life to helping others, working as a registered nurse for 35 years, taking on roles such as Diabetes Educator and running tobacco cessation clinics for Bigelow Fowler Clinics.

Even though she was known as a bit of a workaholic, Chantal loved her family the most. She and Don would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this year. She loved each of her children dearly, and considered them her greatest accomplishment and joy.

Chantal will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infinite compassion, and great sense of humour (and brownie recipe).

Vigil Rites will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2405 12 Ave S, Lethbridge.
