Carol "Faye" Cain Obituary

Carol ‘Faye’ Cain of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the hospital.

Faye is lovingly remembered by her children: Patricia (Carl) of Vulcan, AB, and Dennis (Barb) of Lethbridge. She was a cherished grandmother to Amanda (Tracey), Alicia (Clayton), Charlene (Brent), and Cody, who fondly remember her stories and humour. She was a proud great-grandmother to Emily, Tyson, Wilder, and Lachlan, whom she adored spoiling. Faye is also survived by her brothers, Don and Gilbert (Dorothy), who will miss her dearly.

Faye was predeceased by her beloved husband, Patrick, and her dear son, Darwin, her sister in-law Ann and her grandson William.

Faye was born on May 2, 1940, in Medicine Hat to Lloyd and Ida Lonson. She married Patrick Cain, and together they built a family filled with love and joy. Her greatest happiness came from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who always appreciated her caring spirit.

Faye was deeply involved in her community. She loved helping on her daughters farm, even if it meant mowing the lawn when it didn’t need it. She had a passion for travelling, often collecting unique souvenirs and memorable stories. Faye’s crafts, especially needlepoint, were known for their beauty and creativity. She was an ardent supporter of the chuckwagon events, cheering loudly for all competitors.

Faye enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino with her best friend, also named Fay. The two were known for their shared love of games and occasional luck.

A dedicated member of the First United Church, Faye volunteered her time generously, often adding a touch of kindness to even the most solemn events. Her ability to lighten the mood will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a host of friends who will miss her quick wit and warm smile.

Faye’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and a caring nature. She touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy of warmth and generosity.

A Celebration of Faye's Life will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 12, 2024 at McKillop United Church, 2329 15 Ave S, Lethbridge, where friends and family will gather to honour her memory and share their favourite stories.
