Carol Lamb Obituary

Dear family and friends, we are sad to share that on November 5, 2023, our beloved Carol Ann (Purfield) Lamb (age 72), passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her parents Leonard Joffre Purfield and Annie Grace Moore and her Sister Dorothy Jean Purfield.

She is survived by her loving husband, Glenn Gordon Lamb, her children Shawneen (Lonnie), Evan (Lana), Eamon (Shauna) and Jenny (Nathan); her Grandchildren  Kyla (Brayden), Jayden, Jessica, Tyson (Tianna), Hailey, MacKenzie, Connor, Isaac, Harmony, Taryn, Dallin, Raistlin and Avery; her siblings Eric (Ollie), David (Ghislaine), Brian (Randi), Janet (Dennis), Craig and Neil (Elizabeth); and many nieces and nephews.

Carol wore many hats throughout her life. She had a distinguished career as a registered nurse, caring for patients in emergency departments, intensive care units and in long term care throughout hospitals in BC, Alberta and Utah. She trained new nurses, taught first aid in the community and was an air ambulance nurse for several years. She touched many lives and made new friends each day as she helped nurse her patients back to health.

As a young woman growing up in Quebec, she competed in track and field in high jump, triple jump and broad jump. She also played a number of other sports including basketball, baseball, and volleyball. Later in life she loved being out in nature (as long as there was a nice warm camper to sleep in) fishing, driving her side by side and exploring the countryside with her family.

Carol’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved all of us with her whole heart. Her greatest work was done at home with her husband, her children and her grandchildren. She taught us, listened to us, laughed with us, cried with us, looked after all our hurts and scrapes and loved us with unconditional love. She was selfless in her service to her family and to members of her community.

We will miss Carol’s fiery Irish temper, her fun sense of humour and her terrible sense of direction. We loved to get her riled up and we loved to make her laugh. She was the very best and saw the good in each one of us. She will be dearly missed.
Carol loved the gospel of Jesus Christ. She taught all of her children that they were beloved sons and daughters of our loving Heavenly Father. She had a strong testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and we take comfort that she is now resting in his care, preparing a place for her family to come home to.

We Love you dear Carol (Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Auntie and friend)!!
Till we meet again!!
