ALLAN JOHN ROGER DESAUTELS
Allan Desautels passed away on Friday February 11, 2022.
Allan was born in Ottawa, Ontario on January 7, 1951. As a young child, his Mom & Dad moved to Dollard, Sask and then nearby Shaunavon, Sask, where Allan grew up during his school years and into his early twenties. As an adult, Allan moved to various places in Saskatchewan and then Alberta, ending up in Lethbridge, AB.
Allan was a gentle soul, kind hearted, and always put other people first. He was a loving son, an awesome big brother, a proud uncle, and recently the proposed fiancé of his friend and longtime companion Kelly (Frederickson).
Growing up in Shaunavon, Allan was always a hard worker – helping his Mom out at every turn, treating his younger brothers & sister, and always looking out for the entire family.
Allan adored his Mom. He was smart at math, loved to play cards (especially Crib), and he had a dry, witty sense of humour. Later in life Allan struggled on & off with mental health – then ten years ago he met Kelly, who was there to support him whenever he needed.
After many years of slowly failing health, he recently spent a month in hospital for a heart condition, caught Covid-19 (and beat it), but then passed away shortly after returning home. He lived in Lethbridge for the past 20 years.
Allan was pre-deceased by his Mom, Beulah (1980), his Dad, Roger (1987), his brother Real and sister Lillie (1961), and his brother (David) Bernie (2015). He is survived by Kelly, his brother Johnny (& wife Barb) Desautels, his sister Gloria (& husband Brian) Bill, his sister-in-law Sherry (Bernie’s wife) Desautels, several nieces and nephews, 2 aunties, and dozens of cousins.
Allan was a sweetheart from the day he was born. Heaven certainly has another angel; we have another hole in our hearts.
