Della Jean Triomphe

Della Triomphe died 10 October 2026  at the age of 96. Della was born to Ersal and Minnie Smith in Cardston, Alberta 12 Aug 1930 and married John Triomphe in 1952. John and Della made Innisfail, Alberta their home for many years and then moved to Vernon, B.C. in 1974. In 1991 they moved to Lethbridge. Della had a gift for making friends wherever life took her. She was outgoing, unpretentious, fun and a vibrant doer. Her love for the Savior was reflected in her faithful service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in the love and kindness she extended to those around her. She quietly went about serving other. She lived a good and full life and has profoundly influenced our lives. A beloved wife, cherished mother, doting grandmother, loving sister and loyal friend, Della was a pillar of strength for both her immediate and extended family.

She will be deeply missed by her children Valerie (Drew) Sommerfeldt and Curtis (Joy) Triomphe.

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her great joy and whose lives she touched in countless ways:

Lisa (Chris) Kosanovich, Megan and Milo;

Monte (Mary) Christman, Kaytie (Caleb) Standing;

Travis (Marina) Christman, Troy, Sean and Alex;

Ryan Christman, Milena and Novalee;

Michelle (Boris) Wong, Emilia;

David Triomphe.  

Della was predeceased by her husband John in 2009, all four of her brothers and her parents. We take comfort in imagining the sweet reunion that awaited her on the other side of the veil.

A Viewing and Meet the Family will be held at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 – 13th Street South, Lethbridge, on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

As per her request there will be no funeral, only a private gravesite ceremony for her family. Della will be laid to rest in the CARDSTON CEMETERY.
