Zofia Hrynczuk

Zofia Hrynczuk passed away at the age of 85 years, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Thursday November 10, 2011. Zofia is survived by her son Jake (Pat) Hrynczuk, daughter Anna (Alvin) Tomiyama; her three grandchildren: Tammy-Lynne Tomiyama, Paul (Elyse) Hrynczuk and Tanya (Wally) Crabbe; three great grandchildren: Wesley and Talia Crabbe and little Declan Hrynczuk; lovingly remembered also by her "Little" sister Julia (Gilbert) Tavernier. Zofia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Oleska of 60 years and eight siblings. Born on October 15, 1926 in Belarus, to Gustaf and Rosalia Buch. She was born the 6th child of ten. In 1945 she met the love of her life Oleska, married July 3, 1947. They lived in Belgium and had two children. In 1956 they immigrated to Canada. Life was hard, she hoed beets, did some custodian work until she landed a job at the Coaldale hospital in the laundry as a supervisor for 11 years, she enjoyed it very much being able to work with her husband. She loved her needle point and Soap Operas and taking really good care of her family and home. Her favourite saying was "I won't forget you", which we would reply "Right back at you" Zofia's family are grateful to everyone at the Coaldale Health Care: Lab, Nurses and Food Services, Coaldale Campbell Clinic, Coaldale Dispensary, Kathy Gilis and everyone at Edith Cavell Care Centre, Lethbridge Chinook Hospital Emergency, Drs and Nurses. Also a very special Thank You to Dr. Kingston. Friends may meet the family at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703 - 13 Street N. Lethbridge, on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 7:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, Nov 16, 2011 at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home with The Very Reverend Archpriest Taras Krochak officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
