
WOOLF WILLIAM VERNON WOOLF, beloved husband of 66 years of Elizabeth (Bertha) of Lethbridge, passed away at age 87 at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Friday, June 3, 2011. He is survived by wife Bertha Allison and sister Helen Westfall. He was predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Pearl Woolf, sister Nedra Leavitt and brother Lee Woolf. William (Bill) was born in Woolford, Alberta November 14, 1923 and attended school there until Grade 5 whereupon his parents, two sisters and his brother moved to nearby Cardston. Bill finished his schooling at Cardston and at age 17 joined the Royal Canadian Airforce. It was while in the RCAF he met and married his sweetheart, Bertha and they settled in Lethbridge. For many years after World War II Bill had a rural bread delivery route and then spent 25 years working with Alpha (Crystal) Dairy. He and Bertha also spent 18 years farming their place at Diamond City. Bill was a long-time honoured member of the International Order of Oddfellows and in his leisure time enjoyed bowling and golf. Bill will be sadly missed by wife Bertha, his many nieces, nephews, other relatives and his many friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at GENERATIONS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, with interment to follow in the Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. If friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4K7, or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, #400, 740-4 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB T1J 0N9.
