WILLIAM ARTHUR SIMS, of Raymond, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Bill was born on February 22, 1927 in Grand Prairie, Alberta. He apprenticed as a mechanic, and built and ran his own Service Station, Pine Hill Service, south of Dawson Creek on the Hart Highway for many years. He also took after his father in being talented in carpentry. After he retired, Bill moved to Raymond, where he resided for many years. He was a resident of Prairie Ridge Lodge, in Raymond, at the time of his passing. He is survived by his three daughters: Sandra (Tim - deceased), Yvonne (Jim), and Marlene (John); and four grandchildren: Sandi, Benjamin, Jeanette, and James. Also surviving him are his siblings: Winnie, Mary (Nik), John (Alice), Dorothy, Marguerite, David, Joan (Stan), and Colleen (Tom), and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Edith Sims, late of Magrath, a twin brother, Wilbur Albert, brothers Ronald and Wesley, and sister, Grace. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, RAYMOND STAKE CENTRE, with Bishop Craig Palmer officiating. There will be a private family interment.
