SIMPSON
William Simpson, beloved husband of Mary Simpson of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the age of 82 years.
He is also the loving father of his children Jack (Barb) of Lethbridge, Lana of Lethbridge and Len of Lethbridge.
He is also survived by his loving sister Marion Holland; two granddaughters Chandra (Ryan), and Kristey; as well as two great-grandchildren Kace & Draden. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was raised in Picture Butte with his sisters Marion, Betty and Jackie. It was there that he met the love of his life, and they shared 60 years together.
He was a truck driver for over 40 years, working long hours and covering many miles. He often said that there wasn’t a truck out there that he couldn’t drive.
Bill loved the outdoors, going camping weeks at a time. He enjoyed hunting, but was happiest with a fishing pole in one hand, and a bottle of beer in the other.
He will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit, sarcastic comments, and teasing sense of humour.
So as we say goodbye, let us always remember Bill’s mischievous grin and famous twinkle in his eyes.
Please join us in Celebration of his Life between 1:30pm and 4:30pm on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Memorial Hall at the LETHBRIDGE LEGION (324 Mayor Magrath Dr. S, Lethbridge, AB).
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation (6007 1A Street SW, Calgary AB T2H 0G5).
