WILLIAM (BILL) RAY PERKINSON, beloved husband of Verda May (Orr) Perkinson, passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Health Centre on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by his father Marion Rae Perkinson, and mother Gladys Thelma Grice, his sisters Thelma Noreen Fischer, Shirley Ann Rocoff and brother Les Archibald Perkinson. Bill is survived by his loving wife Verda, his daughter Carol-Lynn Martens, his son Robert Murray Perkinson, his step-children Dennis Roy O'Sullivan, John Brian O'Sullivan, and Debra Mae O'Sullivan, 13 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Bill was born at Rimbey, Alberta April 11, 1923. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force, trained as a Tail Gunner in World War II with the Lancaster in Germany. Bill married Verda May Orr April 1, 1967 and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Cardston Alberta Temple. Bill was always very supportive and interested in his grandchildren's activities and interests. Bill was a true gentleman. He never complained and was always concerned about other people, never himself. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father. Bill played numerous sports in his younger years, loved to dance and enjoyed music. Bill was a convert to the LDS church in 1960 and was active throughout his life. Bill was a successful realtor for 50 years and received numerous achievements and awards. Friends may meet the family prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge Stake Centre, 2410-28 Street South. Interment to follow in the Orton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
