STEPHEN J. TOMINUK of Lethbridge passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the age of 91 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 57 years, Mary, and son River of Nova Scotia, grandsons Peter Maxwell and Marcus Addison Brathwaite of Calgary. He is predeceased by a daughter Annette Marie and a sister Elsie Chemerys of Edmonton. In 1953 Steve and Mary married and purchased a dilapidated cafAC. in Carway at the border. With hard work and determination they created a successful tourist business, which became a duty-free store. They flourished there, having two children and educating them. Steve retired in 1991 and moved to Lethbridge where he resided until his passing. He had a dead-pan and mischievous, playful sense of humor, which endeared him to all that knew him. Friends may meet the family on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at CHRIST TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 416-12 Street South, Lethbridge with Rev. Jason Anderson officiating. Interment at the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.
