SHARLENE DIANE LAWRENCE of Clairmont, AB passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side on Thursday, November 22, 2012. Sharlene touched the hearts of everyone she met and will be greatly missed by many. Sharlene Diane Boyce was born in Swift Current, SK, a New Year's baby. She attended school in Swift Current. When the Boyce family moved to Maple Creek, SK, Sharlene followed and lived with her family until in 1968 she enrolled in hair dressing school in Lethbridge, AB. While in Lethbridge she met her future husband, Tom Lawrence. They were married in Edmonton, AB on August 5, 1969 and took up residence in the Sangudo area. In 1975 the Lawrence family moved to Fairview, AB where Tom had a job with United Grain Growers. Sharlene and Tom spent 20 years in Fairview. She worked at the IGA for a few years, then at Sears, and then at Tagert Apparies before the family moved to Clairmont, AB in 1996. While in Clairmont Sharlene worked for the 1Hour Photo Source and Paquin Studios before retiring. She was predeceased by her dad Edward R. Boyce, her mother Mary Boyce and her brother Ron Boyce. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law Ron Chabot and nephew Mathew Watson as well as her in-laws Bill and Caye Watson and one brother-in-law George Lawrence. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 43 years Tom, their children: son George (Angela) of Burnaby and their children, Eli and new born Mason; and daughter Genny of Edmonton. Sharlene is also survived by her sisters: Marilyn (Ralph) of Hannah and Brenda of Maple Creek. Also surviving is the Watson Family: Rita (Jack) Haberman of Lethbridge, Terry Watson of Campbell River, Lynn (Coral) Watson, Robin (Lori) Watson of Grand Prairie, Myra (Ewald) Granson of High River, Cathy (David) Paquin of Campbell River, Marcy (Jim) Gatensby of Sangudo, and Graham (Karen) Watson of Red Deer, and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved Auntie Sharlene. Coca and Chelsey will also miss their doggy mom. Memorial Services for Sharlene will be announced at a later date. Cremation has already taken place. Special thanks to Max and Nicolas Salmon of Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home of Lethbridge. No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
