Setsuko Matsugi

SETSUKO MATSUGI 1933 - 2009 MRS. SETSUKO MATSUGI of Raymond, Alberta, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at the St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. She was born in Vancouver on March 3, 1933 and has spent most of her life in the Raymond area. She is survived by her children: Cheryl Matsugi, Lori (Frank) Pautler, Darren Matsugi, and Carrie (Derek) Brooks-Chomiak; her grandchildren: Travis, Heather, Karli, Sherrie, Courtney, Angela and Tyson. She is also survived by her siblings: Martha (Yosh) Akune, Yoshiye (Dick - deceased) Nakata, Teruko (Peter) Savage, Mariko (Akio) Sato, Hiroko Ikeda and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents: Gunjiro and Ayano Ikeda, her husband Dairoku and her brother Roy Ikeda. At her request, a private family funeral service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and koden, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317-10 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 2M7 and/or St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre, 1400-9 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4V5.
