
ROWENA ROSE (McMULLIN) MELDRUM, beloved wife of the late Verl T Meldrum, passed away at the Raymond Care Centre on Monday, November 8, 2010. Rowena is survived by her children: Craig (Jennifer), Dianne, Joan (Rex) Olson, Bradford (Penny), Duayne (Maxine), 17 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Rowena was predeceased by her husband Verl, her son Rodney, her grandson Phillip Meldrum and a great granddaughter Cassandra, and by all of her siblings and their spouses. Rowena was born on April 2, 1924 to Alphonzo L. and Mary Elizabeth Munns McMullin. She graduated from Raymond High School, attended college in Edmonton and joined the CWAC and served in WWII in Currie Barracks in Calgary. Rowena enjoyed participating in many sports in her youth. She and her husband served as Stake missionaries and they proudly served many years on the Cemetery Board and for the yearly honoured guest event. Rowena owned "Rowena's Flowers" for many years and loved working with flowers. She loved her family and provided many delicious meals, especially known for the 1st of July feasts. Friends may meet with the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, KNIGHT STREET CHAPEL (260 E 200N), Raymond, Alberta on Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. as well as on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the KNIGHT STREET CHAPEL, Raymond at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Robert Baker officiating. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery.
