RONALD N SOMMERFELDT, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at home, at the age of 71 years.

His family that remains to honour his life are his wife; Jesse, his son; Geoff (Nicki) and their children, Kaiya, Jager, Cooper and Asher, his daughter; Krystyn (Richard) Jahn and their children Greta, Ozzie, Hazel and Eve.

He is also survived by his mother; Reita Sommerfeldt, his brothers; Willard (Karen), Doug (Sharon), Boyd (Carol) and Ken (Wendy); a sister-in-law; Rea Skelton; and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was predeceased by his father; Winslow, his grandparents, his father and mother-in-law; Reega and Williene Gregson, a sister-in-law; Marya and a niece; Juanita.

Ron is a disciple of Jesus Christ and his family meant everything to him. He provided them with unconditional love, spiritual guidance and the necessities of life. His grandchildren kept him motivated to live. He dearly loved his brothers and they really liked to play together. He was fulfilled with any service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Though he lived with the limitations of MS and was confined to a bed for almost 20 years, he became a scholar in patience, endurance, long-suffering, mercy, humility and love. Above all, he was a “peacemaker.” He was diligent in scripture study everyday as he was preparing for his missionary work that he longed to perform again. His first mission, that was a highlight of his life, was serving in the Eastern United States Mission. His fellow companions, including Elder Ronald Rasband, will be forever a part of his life. He had many choice and great friends in his formative years in Cardston, Alberta. To this day, he highly cherishes these relationships. Other brotherly bonds came to Ron as he served in Bishoprics in Lethbridge.

He loved music and had a beautiful voice. He was athletic and enjoyed sports. He enjoyed a short stint as a ranch-hand as he worked with his father-in-law Reega Gregson. He attended University and most of his career he worked as a real estate appraiser.

His family love extended to his many nieces and nephews and ALL of them enjoyed being with him and honoured him. Cousins were numerous and also cherished.

Ron had wonderful care-givers and Pabi was devoted to his care until the end. We thank all of them as they are considered our loved ones. His wish was to be in his own home until he passed away and that desire was fulfilled.
