Wes served in the Canadian Armed Forces both as an active serviceman for 25 years (5 Navy, 20 Air) and a civilian for 13 years in the capacity as a Stationary Engineer, all of which in the end led to his asbestos caused cancer. During his service he participated in the Korean Conflict in 1953. He and his family lived in the Cold Lake area from 1958 - 2012 and leave behind many good friends. His passions were building anything from his home to a hovercraft and everything in between, cooking (always with his mentor, Wok with Yan in mind) and being home with his wife. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Latter-day Saints, MAGRATH STAKE CENTRE, 21 East, 1 Avenue South on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 12:00 noon. Interment in the Magrath Cemetery prior to the service. The family is most grateful for the tender and compassionate care of St. Michael's G-House, Palliative Team with special acknowledgement to Dr. Schukkoor, Home Care Team in particular Nurse Delayne, sister-in-law Brenda Zobell, WCB and Veterans Canada.
