Rex Lyman Anderson

REX LYMAN ANDERSON passed away at home on Sunday, November 18, 2007 in Raymond, Alberta. Rex will be greatly missed by Eileen (Dahl), beloved wife of almost 55 years, and his nine children: Helen (Jim) Coppieters of Raymond; Marilyn (David) Lowry and Carol D. (Greg) Wolsey of Lethbridge; Betty Lou (Jack - deceased) Creaser of Campbell River, BC; Judy (Doug) Takahashi of Calgary; Sherry (Kevin) Kay of Airdrie; Shelly (Todd) Grigor of Slidell, Louisiana; Jon Anderson and David (Brenda) Anderson of Calgary. Second mother Isabelle Ronney of Raymond; brothers and sisters: Reid (Doreen) Anderson of Lethbridge; Moyle (deceased) (Eunice) Anderson of Cardston; Gordon (Pat) Anderson of Lethbridge; Barbara (Gordon) Snow of Raymond; Judy (Gordon) Cooper of Black Diamond; Floyd (Bev) Anderson of Cardston; Dale (Linda) Anderson of Victoria, BC; Lynden (Teresa) Anderson of New Dayton; 46 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Rex was born in Stirling, Alberta on August 10, 1927, the third son of Ada Elizabeth Erickson and Angus Anderson of Tyrell's Lake, near New Dayton, Alberta. His mother, Ada, died on May 14, 1929 - Rex was 21 months old. From August 1929 to 1934, Rex was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, by his paternal grandparents and aunts, rejoining his dad in Canada at the age of seven. Rex enjoyed serving in the Australian mission 1948-50, farming, and raising his large family. Being a member of The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints was his greatest joy. Serving as bishop of the Raymond 6th Ward and as a temple ordinance worker blessed him and his family. Special thanks to all those who have offered comfort and care to Rex and his family. Friends may meet the family on Friday evening, November 23, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the LDS Knight Street Chapel, Raymond or prior to the service at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Knight Street Chapel, 260E 200N, Raymond with Bishop Rolf Michel officiating. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
