Reuben Woida

REUBEN WOIDA December 2, 1924 - August 26, 2008 Reuben was born in Edmonton and shortly thereafter moved to a farm. He farmed until he was 23 when he moved into Edmonton where he worked for the city for the next 35 years. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking, baseball and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. He also spent many hours volunteering for the Diabetes Association and the CNIB. In 2005 he moved to Lethbridge to be closer to his family. He was blessed with a great grandson in 2007. Reuben will be missed and remembered by his son Brian Woida, his daughter Dianne (Robert) Potvin, grandsons Shaun (Michelle) Cook, Aaron Potvin and great grandson Seth Cook and special friend Helen Pickering. He is also survived by brothers: Albert (Verla) Woida, Gordon (Shirley) Woida, Ernie (Donna) Woida, sisters Ruth McRae, and Martha (John) Nay. He is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Woida; brothers: Fred, Art, and Bill Woida. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at THE RIVER OF LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2820-18 Avenue North, Lethbridge, with Pastor Bill Calderwood officiating. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 210D-12A St. N., Lethbridge T1H 2J1.
