JENSEN RAYMOND ANDERSON JENSEN passed away peacefully at the Raymond Health Centre on Thursday, January 21st, 2016 at the age of 93. Raymond leaves to mourn his passing, his wife and best friend of 71 years, Hope Harker Jensen, daughter Sylvia (Robert) Leishman, sons Philip (Linda),Glen (Shauna), Murray (Bev), Bruce (Kendra) and Randal (Karianne), 25 Grandchildren and 60 great Grandchildren; Brother Alan Jensen and cousin Vivian Fawns. Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Grace Jensen, infant brothers Lewis and Melvin, sister Olive (Chuck) Watson, and brothers Bryant (Irene) , Evan (Myrtle), and Gordon Jensen who passed at the age of 12. "Ruzz" was born in Raymond September 14th, 1922, where he was raised, received his education, and resided his whole life. On June 22, 1944 he married the love of his life, Hope Harker, in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They started their life together farming and raising cattle on the Milk River Ridge and in later years enjoyed the construction and backhoe business. He had a special talent for building or fixing most anything. Raymond had many close friends and business associates and was well-known for his gentle manner, his honesty and integrity that he exemplified in his personal and business life. He had a special place in his heart for all of the members of the OK Colony, past and present. Right up until the time of his passing he spoke fondly of his friends at the OK and expressed his love and appreciation for them, and valued the friendships he made during his years farming at the Ridge, and in later life their visits together. Raymond served faithfully in many church callings, including two Stake Missions, one to Tyrrel Lake, and the second with his wife Hope at Spring Coulee where they made many long-time friends. Dad's and Mom's greatest joy was their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They loved spending time with them and could be found supporting them whenever possible at sporting events, dance recitals, plays, weddings and anything else they were involved in. Up until his 92nd year, Grandpa could be seen riding around town on the three wheeled bike he built, and will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care Dad received from Dr. Wally Tollestrup, the staff of the Prairie Ridge Good Samaritans, and the Raymond Health Centre. Friends may meet with the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, RAYMOND STAKE CENTER, 2 N 200 W, on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the church on Monday prior to the funeral from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the RAYMOND STAKE CENTER on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
