Oleska Hrynczuk

HRYNCZUK OLESKA (ALEX) HRYNCZUK, beloved husband of Zofia Hrynczuk, passed away on Thursday August 2, 2007 at the age of 86, at the Coaldale Health Care Centre. Besides his wife of sixty years, he is survived by his children: Jakiw (Pat) Hrynczuk, Anna (Alvin) Tomiyama; three grandchildren, Tammy-Lynne Tomiyama, Paul Hrynczuk, Tanya (Wally) Crabbe; and one great grandchild Wesley. Loving remembered also by sister-in-law Julie (Gilbert) Tavernier. Oleska was born in Forty Oak, Ukraine on October 5, 1920. He was a paramedic in the army, when he met the love of his life in1945 and got married on July 3, 1947. They moved to Belgium where he worked in the coalmine. They emigrated to Canada in 1956 with their two children. He worked in the coalmine in Lethbridge, then in Burmis as a logger and later in the Coaldale Community Hospital in maintenance until his retirement. His true love was working in the garden and smelling his flowers. Friends may meet the family at Christensen Salmon Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Christensen Salmon Funeral Home, 327-10 Street South Lethbridge, Alberta on Thursday August 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m, with The Very Reverend Father Taras Krochak officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
