He attended school and helped with the family owned business in New Westminster. During the evacuation of the Japanese from the West Coast in WWII, Mits left his family to accompany his aunt and uncle and young family to Alberta. They arrived in Hillspring in the Spring of 1942. He was reunited with his family in Raymond in 1946. He worked on various farms until 1948 when the family purchased land in the Readymade area. Mits and his brother farmed until they retired in 1993. Throughout his life, he was a hard worker who strove to do his best in all his endeavors. Even with his loss of sight shortly after retirement, he maintained all other aspects of his independence and continued to reside in the Readymade area until his passing. He will be sadly missed by his family. A private family service was held on Sunday, March 18, 2007. Koden gratefully declined. Memorial donations in Mitsuo's name may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, St. Michaels Care Centre, 1400-9 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB T1J 4V5.
