Michael Torscher

TORSCHER MICHAEL JOSEPH (MIKE) TORSCHER passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 27, 2014 in Fort Macleod. Mike was born Oct. 29, 1935 and raised in Burdett, Alberta. Mike met and later married the love of his life Celia (Sally) Polderman in Raymond, Alberta on Oct. 22, 1960. They moved to Fort Macleod in 1963 where he resided with his family until his passing. Mike worked at the Fort Macleod Hospital for 28 years, served as a fourth degree Knight of the Fort Macleod Knights of Columbus Council No. 5089, as well as serving on the volunteer Fire Department from 1972-'93 where he retired after 21 years as deputy chief. Besides his loving wife, Mike is survived by his children: Danny (Julie) and Darlene (Cliff) and grandchildren: Jenae (Derrick), Darcie, Amy (Derek), Kristin and Taylor and his sister Ann. Mike was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Eva and his brother Francis. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2604-3 Avenue, Fort Macleod, with Rev. Angelo D'Costa, Celebrant. Inurnment to follow in the Fort Macleod Cemetery.
