Mary Russell

MARY STRINGAM RUSSELL passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 in Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 86 years. She was born in Cardston, July 24, 1921. She attended school at Glenwood, LCI, Olds Agriculture College, and Utah State University. Her extra curricular activities included rifle marksmanship at which she excelled. She married Kenneth C Russell in 1941. Her husband farmed at Diamond City and taught school in Coalhurst. Her total focus was on her husband, family, church and community service. Mary was very active and involved to the end. She was instrumental in publishing a history book for the Diamond City and Commerce area. She was predeceased by her husband in 1983. Mary is survived by her seven children: K. Dale (Connie), Merrilee (Marvin) Harker, Graeme (Shauna), Robin (Desi), Kit (Pam), Ellen (Craig) Abbott, Kenna (Mark) Asplund; and her 38 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS in Diamond City on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Friends are welcome to meet with the family prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
