CANN April 1, 1930 - May 3, 2010 MARGARET "PEGGY" CANN (SPITZER) of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on May 3, 2010 at the age of 80 years. Peggy is survived by her children Duane Spitzer, Bob Spitzer, D'Arcy Cann all of Lethbridge, AB; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and sister Lily Elliot. Peggy was predeceased by her parents Rose and Charles; brothers Charlie and Billy. Peggy was born on April 1, 1930 in Taber, AB. She grew up on a farm with her parents where she had chores, which included feeding the chickens. Growing up Peggy played baseball the only girl on the team. Her position was pitcher she loved striking out the boys. She later moved to Lethbridge with her parents. Peggy worked at the Elks Club as a bartender for over 18 years where she made many friends. Later working at Ruby's Restaurant and taking care of seniors on a one on one basis. Peggy enjoyed bowling, which her first son Duane loves too. She loved all music, her second son Bob went into radio. In 1975 at the age of 45, Peggy had her last son D'Arcy who lived with her and took care of her. She had a sense of humour and in good sprits till her last day. She spent her last years at home, keeping the same schedule. Having supper, playing tic-tac toe, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and doing the dishes. On weekends she had McDonalds breakfast and enjoyed watching golf. Peggy was strong woman, who over the last few years, fought off death more than once and kept going, an inspiration to her youngest child. Peggy did not want a service and wished to be cremated. The family would like to Thank the nurses on the 4th floor of the hospital, especially Heidi, who did everything they could for our Mother. She was blessed and loved so very much on her last day of this life.
