Leo Richard

LEO RICHARD, born April 20, 1932, passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Health Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta on Thursday, April 21, 2011. He leaves to mourn, daughter, Rozina Richard of Lethbridge; and son, Chubb Richards of Penticton, BC; two sisters: Rita Norman and Marie Bittner, both of Prince George, BC. Leo is also survived by four grandchildren: Paige, Trevor, Cory, and Tyson. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Ida Richard, and a younger sister, Marina Olson. Leo had a very large family stretching from BC to Saskatchewan filled with many special people. Leo thoroughly enjoyed his life; it was filled with many fun memories and a lot of music. His life revolved around his music, and it was truly the nature of his soul to be singing whenever and wherever he could. A born entertainer and music enthusiast, he played a variety of instruments, and was known for always having a guitar handy. He had a great many friends that shared his love of music and this is how he wishes to be remembered. Always smiling, and singing a happy tune. Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Ah, yes, these things I, too, will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow; I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full; I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart, and share with me God wanted me now; He set me free. Friends may pay their respects prior to the funeral service on Friday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge.
