LEO DIETZEN passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at the age of 76 years, beloved husband of Fay Dietzen of Lethbridge. He is the loving father of: Sheila Marek of Lethbridge - Michael (Shelley), Melanie (Garfield) Henderson and Chris (Lucy); Darlene (Bill) Aldous of Lethbridge - Rob (Jennifer), Jennifer Ryan) Sparks, Cameron, Megan; Kathy (Bill) Conners of Lethbridge - Willy, James; Colleen (John) Bains of Nobleford - Samantha (Damon) Postman, John Hunter, Russal (Sonya) Hunter; Gwen Dietzen of Lethbridge - Brian; Gail Roth of Lethbridge - Erin, Ethan. He is survived by 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Leo is also survived by stepsons: Larry (Diane) Hamilton and Ken Hamilton; one brother, Ed (Barb); two sisters: Suzanna Bauer and Pauline Rostad; special niece Anna Medwid and other nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Christina and Rebecca. Leo was predeceased by an infant son, James; two brothers, John and Tony, and several nephews; and his parents, Christina and Matthias. Leo was born in Quinton, Saskatchewan, August 19, 1930. He moved with his family, as a teenager, to Lethbridge. He married Katherine Koop, and they had one son and six daughters. Later in life, he married Fay Lowther, who had two sons. Leo worked as a miner, truck driver, farm machinery serviceman, construction foreman and combining. He enjoyed camping, fishing with his family, hunting, and socializing with his friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge, with Rev. Elizabeth Brown officiating. Cremation. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
