Larry West

LARRY WILBERT WEST, (1928-2008) beloved husband of Audrey Joan (Liddle) passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the age of 79 years in the Chinook Regional Hospital surrounded by loving family. In addition to his loving wife, Larry leaves to mourn his children and their families: Dixy Lee (Tofy) Mussivand and their children Troy and Lailee; Kathleen (Tim Nowlin) and children Shawn (Daphne), Clay (Brenda), and Jessica Jacobson; Brian (Michelle Gatin, and John and Lee Stadelman) and children Curtis and Elias and Michael and his children Scott and Natasha. He is also mourned by his siblings: Russell (Hazel) West, Donna (Lloyd) Erickson, Allen (Jacqueline) West, and Janice (Pete) Shaw. Larry was born and raised in Raymond, Alberta; and was predeceased by his parents Curtis and Iona (Larson) West. He is also predeceased by his siblings: Melba Pickett, Cliff West, Deral West, Lloyd West, Lavon Pickett, and Eva West. Larry ran a successful construction company in Southern Alberta and had been retired for many years. In addition to his business achievements he was active in and excelled in numerous sports including basketball and baseball. His name is enrolled in the Basketball Hall of Fame in Raymond, Alberta and in the Lethbridge Hall of Fame for Broder's Chinook Basketball Dominion championship team in 1959. His family appreciates the loving care he received during his illness by the compassionate nursing staff on Ward 4B at the Chinook Regional Hospital and at the Renal Dialysis Unit at the Chinook Regional Hospital through the years. In addition, we acknowledge the excellent care of the numerous physicians who attended him, and in particular Dr. Wong and Dr. Haberman who were very supportive. Friends may meet the family prior to the service at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge East Stake Centre, 4105 Forestry Avenue South, Lethbridge with Bishop Ron Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at the Temple Hill Cemetery in Raymond, Alberta. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Renal Dialysis Unit of the Chinook Regional Hospital.
