
KINJI (KEN) TAKEDA of Coaldale, beloved husband of Fuji (Fudge) passed away suddenly on July 6, 2009, while golfing with friends. Ken was born in Coughlin, B.C. in 1926 and moved to Alberta in 1942. Ken and his brothers farmed for many years in the Coaldale area. He was also involved in several other business ventures, most notably, Jubilee Motors in Raymond and Land-O-Lakes Golf and Country Club in Coaldale. Ken was very dedicated to his family, community and church and loved curling and golfing with his friends and family. He is survived by his loving children, Gay (Garry Light) of Calgary, Valerie (Richard Boras) of Coaldale, Faith (Duncan Moodie) of Calgary, Blaine of Coaldale, Louise (Jens Kjaerulff) of Victoria and grandchildren, Nicole Light; Tyler, Tianna and Tim Boras; Kelly and William Moodie; Kate Takeda; Solvai and Nicholas Kjaerulff Takeda. Ken's cheerfulness, calm disposition and wisdom touched all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be dearly missed. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at THE BUDDHIST TEMPLE OF SOUTHERN ALBERTA (BTSA), 470 - 40 Street South, Lethbridge T1J 3Z5. If desired, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Coaldale and District Emergency Services, Box 1571, Coaldale, AB T1M 1N3 or to the BTSA.
