Kenneth Harker

KENNETH SABEY HARKER, beloved husband of Eva Marie (Crookston) Harker passed away in Raymond, Alberta on November 1, 2007 at the age of 82 years. Ken was born in Magrath, February 26, 1925 the fifth son of 10 children of Levi Linnus Harker and Christie Sarah (Sabey) Harker. On July 21, 1953 he married Eva Marie Crookston and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Ken (dad) told many stories of his uncles and cousins and grandpa Levi about breaking horses, farm work and playtime. Dad loved Magrath and loved raising his family in a town that offered so much. His greatest treasure was his family. Thanksgiving 2007 was a wonderful day for dad, where he enjoyed the company of all of his family. He was a special husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed. Ken was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout his life and was a good example to all of us. Besides his loving wife Ken is survived by four children, Bonnie (John) Bridge, Neil (Patti) Harker, Vince (Heather) Harker and Randy (Allonna) Harker as well as 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Linnus and Christie and all of his siblings, Gare, Ralph, Don, Marge, Alice, Bill, Sarah, Martha and Helen. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 5, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Magrath Stake Centre, Magrath, Alberta with Bishop Dan Anderson officiating. Interment to follow in the Magrath Cemetery. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm at the church.
